Geocache Description:

Located in an unused portion of a beautiful wooded park, this cache was placed exactly 5 years after our first cache placement, which was also in this park. Unfortunately, the first attempt, SCS1 aka GCBA36, was unknowingly just beyond the southern park boundary on state game land, and eventually had to be removed.

About the park:

With its 320 acres of rustic camping sites and equestrian trails, Silver Creek Park is a popular weekend hangout for local horses and their owners. Named for the spring fed trout stream that traverses it, SCP is blessed with 450 feet of frontage on this beautiful waterway. The entire park is primarily wooded, providing for plenty of shade in the hot summer months and some spectacular foliage color in the fall.

About the cache:

SCSII is an ammo box placed in a usual wooded terrain geo-fashion. However, there are no trails in the area of the cache. Although over .1 mile from the nearest parking, the bushwhack distance from the road is quite short, and no tree climbing is involved. Unfortunately, access to the available parking areas may require the use of 4 wheel drive during the wettest or whitest periods of the year.
