Geocache Description:

A regular sized cache consisting of a camo'd container with trade items and a log. It's a short walk in a semi-wild area that straddles the once used tracks. Special Prize for FTF, a $1 coin.
Again you will notice the signs warning of trespassing, but also notice the gates provided for pedestrian travel.

Like the areas of Walk on the Wild Side #1& #2, this is also a remnant of the wooden trestle system that supported a section of the Southern Pacific Rail Road tracks from downtown Sacramento along the River south and across the often flooded areas of the Riverside District outside of the city proper of Sacramento.
Its harder to visualize the contour of the land as it exists in this section because part of it is a bluff/hill and is naturally elevated. And the parts under the wooden trestle that had to be filled-in to form the berms are harder to recognize but are still existent in some spots.
The area along the southern route of this Rail Road spur has become a recreational setting for those residents of the areas along its path. Check out the huge Oaks that are everywhere and don’t be surprised if you are challenged by a local flock of wild turkeys that use this natural area as their private highway and reserve, or you might flush wild dove or even a pheasant.
This section is tucked in behind an eclectic collection of some very nice homes and interesting architecture, enjoy the views and the walk, please be respectful of the private areas and Please Tread Lightly.
Parking is available and the area is approachable from two directions. Access from the North is behind a small shopping center and parking is available.
*Fun challenge---did you find the house that would be suitable for a thin man? It's 3 stories high, really!

CONGRATULATIONS TO GLDNBUDDHA FOR FTF!
