Gone to the dogs Multi-Cache

This cache has been archived.

thekennelat79: This small area of woodland is owned by Portsmouth City Council.
Until recently, they regularly patrolled the area and cleared away any fly tipping or rubbish.
Due no doubt to financial constraints, they appear to have abdicated this responsibilty.

The area is no longer a pleasant place to be, owing to the accumulation of rubbish.
The cache has been been destroyed, probably by local "yoofs" who now play in the woods.

I have always insisted that caching should be a matter of "quality rather than quantity".
For this reason, I have decided to archive the cache rather than replace it in what is now an unsatisfactory spot.

Geocache Description:

Located in a little patch of wild woodland, which has been almost completely surrounded by modern development.

Most people will rate this one as a cache and dash but the tree cover in this location seems to do very funny things with the GPS. Tracking down the cache could be a little more tricky than you might think.

Please make sure that you are not being watched as you hunt for, retrieve, and replace the container

The above co-ordinates are for off-road parking in High Lawn Way

Go to N 50 52.326 000 58.888 W and count the number of wooden sleepers which form the footway of the bridge. Call this number A

The cache is located at N 50 52.B W 000 58.C where

B = (A x 21) plus 3
C = (A x 52) plus 13

The cache container is a camouflaged 0.5 litre box which, at the time of placing, contains just a paper log sheet and pencil.
