Geocache Description:

Have you ever heard that expression, “three dog night”? It refers to being cold. Often when ranchers or cowboys were out on the range they would have to sleep with their dogs to keep warm. A one dog night was a night when he had to share body heat with one dog, two dog night was two dogs and a three dog night was an extremely cold night where he would have to share body heat with three dogs. “How cold was it on your trip?” “It was a three dog night”.

Since I’m placing this cache on the last day of December, it seemed appropriate to give it this name, cause most of the nights this time of year are three dog nights. Every dog has its day, but the nights are different.

I took several readings for these coordinates and they should be accurate, although you'll still have to look for it. This may tick some of you off, but I did my best to get you as close to the cache as possible before having you rely on your eyes and fingers. Generally, I don't like placing caches near blackberry vines, but like I said it was the afternoon of an upcoming three dog night and there weren't many thorns this time of year. Regardless of the timing, I can't promise you'll be free from thorns while you search.

Congratulations to Flyboy on getting FTF! Way to go!

Don't think you're on the right road just because it’s a well-beaten path.
