Located in a former sand/gravel mining area, but now part of Allamuchy Mountain State Park
My first placed cache. Container is a small tupperware-type hidden near the Musconetcong River and the confluence of Morris, Sussex and Warren counties. This area used to be an active sand and gravel mine but is now incorporated into Allamuchy Mountain State Park. There is lots of wildlife to be seen here. I've seen many birds and even found a baby snapping turtle crossing the trail.
This area sees some fisher-muggles, so please be cautious. Recommended parking is at the gate on Kinney Rd. When placed, the weeds and brush were not a problem. At other times of the year however...
Good luck and have fun!
