Sapper Snyder Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

SapperYoung: I figured this memorial cache has served its intended purpose. The terrain at the cache site has taken a turn for the worst lately, and after I could barely make it out there to check on the container, I decided to retrieve it for good. Sorry guys.

Geocache Description:

This cache is a dedication to my friend and fallen hero Captain Adam Snyder. Adam and I attended West Point and Sapper School together. The terrain where I hid the cache is very similar to that of Fort Leonard Wood, where Adam and I conducted our graded patrols and earned our tabs.

Capt. Adam P. Snyder, 26, of Fort Pierce, Florida died supporting Operation Iraqi Freedom at a combat hospital in Balad, Iraq, from wounds suffered when his vehicle encountered an improvised explosive device in Bayji. He was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 327th Infantry Regiment, 1st Brigade Combat Team, 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault), Fort Campbell, Ky. He was two months into his second tour of duty in Iraq.

Depending on which way you come from, you may have to cross a ditch. Be careful and watch your step. Suggested parking coordinates are:
N 35deg 04'07.4"
W 078deg 59'28.6"

I updated the terrain rating to 5 because of the summertime foliage. It's nasty out there this time of year!
