In celebration of Linn County Conservation's 50th Anniversary there will be 50 GeoCaches placed within various parks and recreation areas in the next year.

Additional information can be obtained from the Linn County Parks Website and the Iowa Geocachers Website.

Wickiup Hill Nature Area

Wickiup Hill Natural Area is located along the Cedar River northwest of Cedar Rapids and is part of the Cedar River Greenbelt.
The Wickiup Hill Outdoor Learning Area is being developed on 240 acres of this 563-acre area.
The Outdoor Learning Area is closed to hunting. The rest of Wickiup Hill is open to hunting.
The Friends of the Linn County Conservation Board are raising money to complete the educational facilities and expand the Outdoor Learning Area.
Wickiup Hill features both upland and bottomland timber and is excellent wildlife habitat.

The new 10,000 sq. foot Wickiup Hill Outdoor Learning Center opened in the fall of 2002, and is the central location for our outdoor learning and education programming.
Newly developed trails are now open with excellent signage to assist visitors.
A portion of the trail system is groomed for cross country skiing during the winter months - assuming sufficient snow cover is in place.
To contact the Education Staff directly, you may call the center at (319) 892-6485, FAX - (319) 294-2728, or email them at cons.edu@linncounty.org
