In 2003, Meigs Field, Chicago's "airport by the lake", was
closed very suddenly.
Since then, air traffic near this location has increased so much
that Romeoville closed off the road east of this location to allow
the Lewis University Airport (LOT) to build a second runway. Also,
the airport's website proudly proclaimed "Welcome Chicago Meigs
Traffic!" in October of 2003.
Since then Romeoville has continued to expand, building two new
roads near this cache, O'Hare and Midway, to honor Lewis University
Airport's big brothers. Following this theme, I've placed this
cache in honor of Meigs Field, the airport by the lake.
Someone left the hanger unguarded! You could probably hijack a
jet airplane from this cache!
