Geocache Description:

A geocaching get together in Greymouth, Waitangi Day, 6th February 2008.

Santa seems to have bought a number of new GPS's to the Greymouth region (and I thought that he used Rudolph to navigate).

This is an opportunity for newer cachers to meet some of the older hands, learn some new tricks on their GPS's and discuss some of those harder to find geocaches.
There may also be an opportunity to swap geocoins and the likes.

The event will consist of a morning get together 10:00am to 1:00 pm on Waitangi Day, 6th February 2008. BYO picnic lunch, deck chairs and picnic table. Don't forget to bring your sunscreen.

There is plenty of parking at the location and I have got permission from the 'owner' to use this site.

The day will be kid friendly (I'll even arrange lolly scrambles and the likes) and will also involve a small GPS based geocaching game aimed at giving newer cachers a chance to interact with one-another and learn some new GPS tricks .

No war memorials have been harmed in the planning of this caching event.

Event Location - Greymouth Hospital Tennis Courts area - access from Waterwalk Road. (We'll stay away from any patient related areas that might be in use on the day).

Back up plan if its raining - An indoor picnic in the West Coast DHB Corporate Office. Closest DHB building to the listed co-ords. Take the narrow drive way in to hospital site to the south of the listed co-ords and drive up the bank, park on the East side of the building and walk in the South East corner.

I have a green sweat top that some one left at the caching event. I assume that it belongs to one of the kids.
