Geocache Description:

Riparian ecosystems are transition zones between an aquatic ecosystem and the adjacent terrestrial ecosystem. They are identified by soil characteristics and distinctive vegetation and are attractive to aquatic and semi-aquatic animal life.

This is a regular cache that is barely in the Riparian area of the park where you are apt to find all kinds of plant and animal life. This small immediate area consists of three eco types – the Water, a low land area and higher ground safe from general flooding. You’ll find the cache container located in the low land type.

Please use the nearby bridge to cross the stream to reach this cache. Also, please take care in replacing the container lid to keep the weather out.

This Geocache was placed with kind permission by the Gwinnett Environmental & Heritage Center in accordance with their Geocache Placement Guidelines

As in all parks and especially here, be mindful of the plant life and tread lightly as you traverse through the park.   If you do see a social trail developing enroot to the cache container, try to deviate from it.

Parking in the main parking area @ N34 03.850 W84 00.260 is required.

Access hours for the Gwinnett Environment Heritage Center Trails are from dawn to dusk daily.   The Center itself is open typically 10-5 daily except for being closed on Sunday. The Please respect these set times.
