This cache is located on the San Simeon nature trail loop.
Parking is free at the Washburn Day Use Area (N 35 35.674 W 121 07.445)
The original Boardwalk cache has been archived, so we replaced the cache in this beautiful area a little off the main path.
Start at the boardwalk path to the wetlands, picking up Revised Boardwalk (GC18FZN) and finish with Whitaker Ranch (GCTYZD) and return to the parking area walking parallel to Washburn Campground Road.
This is a beautiful 3.5 mile loop. You will walk along Pine Ridge, into Fern Gully where you will walk across Willow Bridge to Huff & Puff Hill,
around the Washburn Campground and onto Whitaker Flats. There are lots of interpretive panels and benches along the entire loop.
Cache is in a cammoed ammo can. Please re-hide well.
Terrain rating is 2.0, mostly downhill, but if you want to reverse the loop rating might be 3.0
