Geocache Description:

This cache is part of an extension to Sadexploration’s immensely far–reaching Church Micro series. Hopefully, it will attain the high standard already set and bring some Geo-life back to this part of Kent.

St.Mary's

Number 93 in the series is St Mary's in Fawkham. The church that visitors see today was built in the early 12th Century by the Norman family – the de Faukehams – that this village is named for. However, a wooden Saxon church existed on this site prior to that and is mentioned in the Domesday Book. Although much restoration work has been carried out over the centuries, the church’s distinguishing features include the Norman font, the 17th Century bell, the Walter family brasses, the Nave’s 13th century wall painting, and the Chancel’s stained glass window.

There is parking to the side of the church.

The initial coordinates are not for the cache but for information needed to solve the clue.

The final position of the cache is at N 51° B(A+B).(A+B)(E-F)(D-C) E 000° C(E-F).(B+F)DC which is revealed by solving the following clue.

N 51° 23.319 E 000° 17.617 - In loving memory of Muriel Joan Reynolds ABth Feb CDEF.

Be very careful on the road.

The cache has a log book but no pen so please bring one with you.

If anybody would like to expand this series please do, I would just ask that you could let sadexploration know first so he can keep track of the Church numbers and names to avoid duplication
