Trail's End Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

martinusen: Wow, this place has changed since I hid this one. Yes, the fire came through here, but it has grown back, and then some. Well, except for the manzanita. The last 300' has no trail, just tall plants and grass. Good place to find a snake. The cache was still there but this is just not as good a place any more. So, I decided to retire this one. :(
Thanks to those of you who found it or looked for it. David

Geocache Description:

To get to this cache, you may choose to take a nice hike up a steep trail that runs from Wilson Canyon Park towards the Wilson Saddle. It's ALL downhill on the way back.

It is possible to drive up to the parking lot and trailhead at the Wilson Saddle using the Santa Clara Truck Trail. This reduces the Terrain rating to a 2, but what fun is that? I recommend that you get some exercise and go take a little longer hike.
Starting from the Wilson Canyon Park you can follow the horse trails North making a steep ascent along the ridge. This is the most direct route. But I recommend making a loop out of it and finding the caches on the Santa Clara Truck Trail on the way up and then returning to the park by taking the trail just to the East of this cache South towards the park. It is about a 6 1/2 mile loop and took me about 3 hours (2 up, 1 back) finding caches along the way.

If you do come up from Wilson Canyon Park, don't forget to stop at the Iron Ranger and leave $3.00 for parking. If you drive up to the Wilson Saddle, you will need to display your Adventure Pass. Bathrooms are available at the Wilson Saddle.

The contents of the cache at the time that I hid it was...
An official medium cache sticker.
An extra large carabiner (not intended for climbing)
Jerry Seinfeld (or a character he played in a movie)
$2,000,000 in large bills.

Congratulations to Don_J for the First To Find.
