The cache is located on Wave Break Island, situated just inside the Gold Coast Seaway. To get there, you will need a form of water transport... be it powerboat, kayak, or even jetski. Be careful if you are paddling to the island, as currents can be very strong at some times of the day. Also, if you're not in a powered vessel, steer clear of the main channels marked by the red and green markers. This is a busy part of the Gold Coast Waterways, and the channels are dangerous to paddlers and slow craft. When you do need to cross the channel, go straight across to ensure that you get out of the way of faster craft. In regards to landing once you're on the island, powerboats can moor to the eastern side of the island near the seaway, or wherever they choose. If you're not in a powerboat, it may be a better idea to land on the western, sheltered side as the current is not as strong, or stick close to the shore if you do choose to paddle around to the eastern beach.
DO NOT ATTEMPT TO SWIM TO THE ISLAND.
Once you're on the island, you'll have a bit of work to do. Depending on where you landed, you may have to do a bit of bush-bashing to even get to the right side of the island. If you do, be careful of spiders and the rock walls. Once you near GZ, be careful of the many branches: they can poke eyes out if they flick up. Take your time to get to GZ safely... the last few meters are treacherous!
Make sure you bring some food for lunch on the island, and take your time to have a stroll around. Bins are provided in popular places for your rubbish, so please don't leave any litter on the island or in the Broadwater. The island is a popular place for day-tripper boaties, so if you do have a powerboat, bring the family along and spend a few hours on the island swimming or just relaxing. Just don't take the kids to the cache, it's too thickly wooded.
Have fun with this one! Just don't forget the sunblock and water!
