[SK] Dnes uz zrusena uzkorozchodna trat Ruzomberok-Korytnica mala povodne spojit Ruzomberok s Banskou Bystricou. Nakoniec vsak bol zrealizovany usek udolim Revucej a Korytnickou dolinou do kupelov Korytnica.
V decembri roku 1906 udelilo uhorske Ministerstvo obchodu koncesiu na prevadzkovanie zeleznice a uz 5.juna 1908 pufkal udolim prvy rusen. Okrem samotnej prepravy kupelnych hosti zabezpecoval i nakladnu prepravu pre miestne priemyselne podniky.
V roku 1958 dorazili do Ruzomberka nove dieslove lokomotivy a v roku 1959 vystriedali stare parne vlaciky. V Ruzomberku ostala uz len lokomotiva U37.006 ako pomnik.
V 60tych rokoch je postavene cestne spojenie medzi Ruzomberkom a Banskou Bystricou a slava Korytka zacina upadat. V roku 1966 dochadza k zastaveniu nakladnej dopravy a nakoniec 25.maja 1974 viezlo ludi udolim posledny krat.

[EN] The abandoned narrow gauge railroad Ruzomberok-Korytnica was initially supposed to connect Ruzomberok with Banska Bystrica. In the end only the track section from Ruzomberok to Korytnica spa was built.
The hungarian Ministry of Trade licenced the construction of the railroad in december 1906 and the first locomotive puffed in the valley on June 5th 1908. In addition to the transport of spa visitors it provided also cargo transport for the local industry.
The old steam engines were replaced in 1959 with diesel engines. The U37.006 steam locomotive was left in Ruzomberok and stands there up to the present day as a memorial.
In the early 1960s the road from Ruzomberok to Banska Bystrica was built and the glory of the Korytko railroad began to fade. The cargo transport stopped in 1966 and finally on May 25th 1974 the train went through the valley for the last time.
Now you can be a passenger enjoying the ride through the nice valley...

[SK] Pripravte sa na to, ze to nebude kratka prechadzka. Trasa samotneho Korytka meria 23,5km a finalka vas privedie do samotnych kupelov nedaleko pramenov Jozef a Zofia, cize dohromady mate pred sebou nieco cez 25km. Idealne je absolvovat tuto trasu na bicykli (udolim vedie cyklo-magistrala RK-BB), pripadne nabalit kufor auta flasami a skocit si do Korytnice po vynikajucu zelezitu mineralnu vodu. V tomto pripade ale nechajte auto na parkovisku (waypoint PK), do samotnych kupelov je vjazd (chvalabohu) zakazany!
[EN] It won't be a short walk, be prepared for it please. The rail track itself was 23.5km (14.64mi) long and the cache is hidden in the Korytnica spa not far off the streams Jozef and Zofia where you can sip the excellent ferruginous mineral water, so there are some 25km (15.5mi) ahead of you. I can definitely recommend doing this cache on bike, especially on a nice summer day (there's long-distance cycling route Ruzomberok-Banska Bystrica passing through the valley). You can also load your car's boot with empty bottles and fill them up with the Korytnica mineral water. In this case please use the car park (see waypoint PK), there's "No entry" traffic sign right at the beginning of the spa.

[EN] Our trip starts at the central train station in Ruzomberok near the already mentioned locomotive U37.006. There was a boarding platform in place of the todays taxi rank. Your task here is to find the label with the water tank volume and multiply it by 10 (basically you'll omit the decimal point) - that's the parameter A.

[SK] Korytko slo chvilu pozdlz Vahu, ktory prekrocilo pri SCP a pokracovalo cez mesto na juh. Dnes tadialto vedu kolaje s normalnym rozchodom do Celulozky a koncia az na Bielom Potoku pri lome. Kedze je vstup na kolaje samozrejme nielen zakazany ale i nebezpecny, povezieme sa na dalsi stage radsej "normalnymi" cestami. Okrem toho stopy po Korytku v tychto miestach uz i tak sotva najdeme...
[EN] Korytko train followed the Vah river for some 700 meters (0.4mi) and near the paper factory SCP crossed the river. Today you can find the standard gauge railway there which ends in the limestone quarry in Biely Potok. Walking on the railroad tracks is of course not only forbidden but also very dangerous, we'll move on to the next stage using the "normal" roads. Besides, hardly any trace of the former old railroad can be found there...

[SK] Dalsiu zastavku, ktora nas bude zaujimat najdeme pri Jaziercoch (nezabudnite sa stavit i po miestnu tradicionalku, Jazierce su nadherne). Z miesta danych suradnic vidno v smere na Bansku Bystricu znacku a na nej zas cislo. Tot indicia C.
[EN] Our next stop is Jazierce (don't forget the local traditional cache, the place is really worth visiting). Another traffic sign is visible to the south (direction Banska Bystrica) with another number. That's the parameter C.

[SK] Urcite ste neprehliadli, ze uz od Bieleho Potoka vas sprevadza po pravej ruke zeleznicny nasyp. Pokial si na to vas bicykel trufne, kludne mozete pokracovat po nom, povedie vas takmer bez prestavky az do Korytnice. Ale opatrne pri krizovani hlavnej cesty!
Dalsou zastavkou nasho vyletu bude Podsucha. Pokial ste nestratili nasyp z oci, priviedol vas k dalsiemu mostu cez Revucu. Kolke v anglickej abecede je pismeno, ktore je napisane v cele praveho zabradlia? Zapisat pod indiciu D.
[EN] You surely haven't overlooked that all the way from Biely Potok you are accompanied by the old enbankment on your right-hand side. If you have an appropriate bike you may continue riding on it, it will lead you up to Korytnica. Just mind the traffic while crossing the major road!
The next stop of our trip is Podsucha. If you didn't lose the embankment, it should have led you to another bridge crossing the Revuca river. There's a letter on the south side of the railing. Its rank in the english alphabet is the parameter D.

[EN] You can continue on the embankment, it goes up to Liptovska Osada, to the former station Osada-pila (sawmill). The building serves as a family house today. Parameter E is the number of the house.

[SK] Pokracujeme do dediny na miesto, kde bola hned vedla riecky Korytnice zastavka Liptovska Osada. Tam, kde je dnes cesta, viedli kolaje.
Aj tu dnes stoji rodinny dom a aj tu bude vasou ulohou zistit jeho cislo. Verim, ze tu s indiciou F nebude ziaden problem.
[EN] The next stop is in the village Liptovska Osada where the former passenger station stands. It's the building next to the river Korytnica.
The building has also been transformed to a family house and your task here is also to locate the house sign with the number. I believe that finding the parameter F won't be a problem at all.

[SK] Poslednou zastavkou pred samotnym grande finale je konecna stanica Korytnica-kupele. Budova dodnes stoji a bola prednedavnom zrekonstruovana. Nachadza sa v oplotenom areali, ale brana od krizovatky je dokoran (v budove je dnes chata) a nikto vas urcite nebude nahanat, ked prejavite zaujem o staru zeleznicku.
Btw. kludne sa pytajte ludi i cestou, vacsinou si starsi Korytko pamataju a s nostalgiou nan spominaju. A nezabudnite sa potom v logu podelit o to, co ste sa dozvedeli ;-).
Ale aby sme nezahovorili poslednu indiciu G. Uz ste urcite uhadli, ze i do tretice pojde o cislo domu, na stanicke ho najdeme na JZ rohu.
[EN] The last stop before the grande finale is the train terminus Korytnica-kupele. The original building is still standing and was renovated not long ago. It's now in the fenced area but the gate from the crossroads is always open (the building was rebuilt into a chalet) and nobody will be hunting for you if you express interest in the old railroad.
Btw. don't hesitate to ask people on the way too, especially the older generation remembers Korytko with nostalgia and will gladly talk about it. Don't forget to share it in the log, should you find out something interresting (well if you found somebody speaking english of course ;-) ).
But we've burked the last parameter G. You've surely already guessed that it's the house number again and you'll find it on the SW corner of the building.
