The town Ronneby have existed since 1292, as we can see in old German documents. But probably more than 1000 year this marketplace has existed. Through centuries, under different majors and kings, have it been a place for meeting, selling, buying. At the Shore of Ronneby River, small fisher boats and bigger ships and vessels, have landed gods of different kind. That has been offered for sale on the little square.
The marketplace was in older days, 500-700 years ago, higher up northeast of this place. Because water level was much higher at that time. At the cache place water was around 1-2 dm deep!
