Geocache Description:

Located in the Brandon Community Park... where you will find picnic and grilling areas, sled hill, ball diamond, playground equipment, and alot of area to walk and enjoy.

The village of Brandon was settled in 1844, and for some reason, its name was "Bungtown" (colorful). In 1851, the village was officially named Luzerne.
The railroad arrived in 1856, and continued on to Ripon.
Most of the settlers in the area came from Vermont, and decided to rename the new station after Brandon, Vermont.

The village became a very active commercial center, and by 1880 it numbered 800 people.
It had a flouring-mill, planing-mill, two wagon shops, two hotels, four grain and produce buyers, four agricultural implement dealers, and its own newspaper, The Brandon Times.

While searching the hide, please use the footbridge year-round, as there is thin ice on the small stream( I found this out in -10 below weather).

Final is a camo nut jar, good for small trade items and coins.
