GCCC-Brian Priest Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

QuartzCachers: Intended to archive this sooner, because this is no longer the cache I left there. The D/T rating isn’t even close. I wanted to keep a challenging cache here in his name, but that is too hard to do from 400 miles away now.

Geocache Description:

A micro hidden in Shiloh cemetery.

This cemetery is located just North of Hot Springs Village on SR 7.
This cache has a special meaning to the QuartzCachers. Our lifelong friend and high school classmate is buried here. It still seems a little surreal to say; he is buried here. Brian moved here when we were going into 7th grade. They had moved around a lot and I don't think they had lived in one place for more than a couple of years before then. I used to pick Brian up on the way to school because I was the oldest in the class and the first to start driving. Brian was the youngest, and the last to start, and in tenth grade, it was just not cool to ride the bus! We developed a great friendship, doing many things together, like basketball and some mischief. A lot of mischief. We had a certain someone that we thought needed their house papered one night, and since the store was closed at that time of night, we ummm, requisitioned a case of 96 rolls from good ol' Jessieville High (that lock on the supply room door was a joke really). We and some others we conned into joining us, then used ALL 96 rolls on said house! It was a mess! (dude did get us all back though). After school, Brian served in the U.S. Navy. We went to visit him and his wife back in the summer of '84. Still have pictures of that trip somewhere. I think I still have a hangover from that trip too, as the drinking age was 19 in Florida back then. I was an adult right!? HAHA not even close! Oh well, lessons learned, memories made (although there does seem to be a stretch missing from that trip, hmmm). I also still have a picture from Florida of our two oldest children in a play pen on the beach together. They eventually graduated from good ol' Jessieville High too. Anyway I could go on for a long time about our times together, but what you want is info on a cache.
This is a container that I hid in part of an oak tree. It is an initial log only so you might guess that it will be hard to find. I want you to find it, so I didn't make as slick as I could have. I left a couple small anomalies. These should make it findable. If you don't find it, I will e-mail a hint to anyone who DNFs it. Please put it back the way you found it, so the next cacher will have the same challenge.
As with all cemetery hides, this is not on any graves, it may not be hunted at night, and please be respectful of all others here, both permanently and temporarily. Also, you should not go outside the fence, it is not there.
Brian, we all miss you, and this one is for you!
Congrats to DanBecPeyt for their FTF!
