A simple reference point.
Last summer I had thought about placing a cache in this area to use as a reference point. Finally did it.
When the snow level drops low enough that the Mountain Loop Highway needs to be plowed, this is where they stop the plow. In the winter, be sure you don't block the plow turn around area. The closure of the gate seems to be based on the snow. There have been a few rare winters that it didn't close and people could drive to Barlow Pass.
The cache is now located on the North side of the road.
