Geocache Description:

Biking, BBQ'ng, and Caching, oh my!


Staten Island is, in my opinion, a place not visited by most people who travel to New York City. It is the suburb of the city that is still in the city. And it's home to a lot of caches that need to be found more. Therefore, in an attempt to expose more people to the wonder that it is, we're having a picnic there!


The listed coordinates are for Wolfe's Pond Park on the south western part of Staten Island. There is plenty of parking and hopefully there will be plenty of space for us! We'll meet there around noon and begin the picnic at the same time.


There are also coordinates are for an area right outside of the Staten Island Ferry Terminal in Manhattan, according to my copy of Google Earth. We will be doing a pre-event bike ride and caching trip. I think meeting there starting at 8:45AM with an approximate 9AM boarding time will be appropriate. There is also a set of coordinates is for the Staten Island Ferry Terminal on Staten Island. I'm going to say meet there at 9:30ish for a meet there and then 9:45 step off. Our route will take us to traditional, multi, and earth caches only as well as the picnic.


If you plan on attending, or think you might attend, please say how many are coming with you so that we can get an approximate number of people as we need to make sure we have an area big enough for everyone, no cacher left behind!


Also if you'd like to bring a dish to share with everyone, as this is a potluck, that would be awesome as well.
