Geocache Description:

Located 3 miles south of Leonardtown on route 5

This cache is named not only for the stream running underneath route 5, but for a supposed witch who froze to death near this location. Because of her actions as a healer and her seclusion, the townsfolk labeled Moll Dyer as a witch. The incidents came to a head in 1697, as famine and disease plagued the land south of Leonardtown. The townsfolk chased Dyer from the charred remains of her cabin to a big boulder, where she died with one hand print on the stone.

To this day, some say they see her ghost in the vicinity of the stream and Moll Dyer Road, usually on the coldest nights of the year. The rock, which Dyer froze herself to, has been moved to the grounds of the St. Mary's County Historical Society in downtown Leonardtown.

You are looking for a magnetic hide-a-key on a guardrail. Stealth is required; traffic will be constantly passing by you. Try not to draw too much attention to yourself, and happy hauntings!

ETA: There is a wide enough pull-off (about 25 feet) from the highway just beyond ground zero when heading south on 5. That is the best place to stop and make the find. There aren't any signs prohibiting parking or stopping around this area, so you shouldn't have any problems.
