Levene kyrka, fornbyn
[SWE] I västgötalagens kungalängd står det att Håkan Röde ligger begravd i Levene. Sägnen säger att Håkan Röde lät flytta kyrkantill sin nuvarande plats då han var kung, detta måste ha skett senast runt 1045 då Håkan Röde dör.
På kyrkogården står Sveriges högsta runsten 4,6 meter hög. Stenen hittades 1927. Stenen var då sönderslagen i två delar och inmurad med en del på var sida om ingången till kyrkan.
Cachen ligger en liten bit från kyrkan vid Levene fornby.
När ni är i Levene passa då gärna på att ta en kaffepaus på byns konditori som är en upplevelse i sig med sin inredning från50-talet.
ENG] In ”Västgötalagens” list of kings it says that Håkan Röde is buried in Levene. The legend says that Håkan Röde had the church moved to it´s present place when he was king. This must have taken place at the latest around 1045 when Håkan Röde dies.
On the cemetary Swedens tallest rune stone stands, it is 4,6 meter high. The stone was found in 1927. It was broken in two pieces and walled in the church. One piece on each side of the entrance to the church.
The cache is a short walk from the church at Levenes ancient village.
When you are in Levene take the opportunity to have a cup of coffee at the local café, this is also an experience with it´s interior from the 50´s
