This is a quiet little picturesque cemetery on the North
bank of the Thames River, named after one of the first settlers on
the Thames just west of the present village of Louisville, which is
also named after him. Part of his homestead was set aside for the
purpose of the Arnold cemetery. Lewis for a time was a tavern-owner
in the village.
It is unknown why the village is called Louisville and not
Lewisville, but people of the area always pronounce the "s"
(as in the name Lewis).
If you like small country cemeteries, you will love this one which,
because of it’s isolation, will seem to take you back to earlier
days along the Thames.
Look around while you are there and enjoy the peace and tranquility
that this spot gives.
