Roalman's Place Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

SLO Trekker: I looked over the area again today, and there has not been much change. As much as this memorial would normally be a wonderful spot to visit and host a geocache, I just don't think it is wise given the continual homeless presence. So, adios. [V][XX(]

Geocache Description:

This is the first in a series of caches along the new segment of the Bob Jones City-to-Sea Bike Trail.

The new portion of the Bob Jones City-to-Sea Bike Trail is a 1-mile stretch that runs along San Luis Obispo Creek between Prado Road and Los Osos Valley Road (although there is currently no exit to LOVR). The bike trail, a Class 1 bicycle path and pedestrian corridor, is a combined effort of the City of San Luis Obispo, SLO County Parks, and The Land Conservancy of SLO. It will eventually connect up with the portion already completed in Avila Beach.

The geocache is located near the Roalman Memorial. The memorial was constructed by The Land Conservancy of San Luis Obispo County to honor Bill Roalman, a former SLO City Council Member and strong advocate for bicyclists. There is a nice sitting area where you can enjoy the solitude and listen to the creek. In the spirit of the memorial, this cache has a bicycle theme. Please trade bicycle related items only (you may leave other things, but only take a bicycle item if you leave some other bicycle item).
