It looks like your cache has been under the weather for some time. While we feel that Geocaching.com should hold the location for you and block other cachers from hiding new geocaches around this cache for a reasonable amount of time, we can't do so forever. Therefore we are archiving this cache so that someone else can place a cache in the area and geocachers can once again enjoy visiting this location. How Geocaching Works

Geocache Description:

This cache was placed in January. We just had a number of days with sub zero temperatures, the weather moderated, temperatures were in the teens, and I wanted to go caching. I had found most of the caches in the area and so did most of my fellow cachers. So I decided it was time for a new cache.

The Fairgrounds have a long history in Grand Forks. At one time the North Dakota State Fair rotated between the major cities in North Dakota and this was the location when it was in Grand Forks. In later years it was the location of the Grand Forks county fair.

The fairgrounds were a WPA project and the grandstand was dedicated by President Roosevelt in the '30s.

Today it hosts events like horse shows and different types of racing.

You will need to bring your own pencil to log this cache.

This is a micro and you MUST log it on the log sheet in the bison container.
