Geocache Description:

This is one of a trio of caches along the Whinash Ridge. There is a faint/decent track between all the summits but it is very boggy in places.

Whinash nearly became the site of 27 wind turbines. A public inquiry was held in 2005 and the proposal was rejected. It would be a very different place today if the plans had been accepted.

From here you have a view of the western end of the Borrowdale Valley beyond the A6. This looks even more Lonely than the Lovely Borrowdale Valley directly below you.

The aerial nearby is a wind speed anemometer.
