COME SEE THE CADRON Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

Chuck Walla: Greetings from Geocaching.com!

Since you have not responded to my reviewer log about your cache, nor did you post a note to your cache page telling me and others of your intention to address the issue with it, the cache has been archived.

Some time ago, I posted a note to your cache page requesting a response from you to post what you were planning to do with the cache on the page and to send me a note. I have no record of a response, and no response tells me that you are not planning on replacing or repairing this cache. If I am wrong with that assumption, please let me know promptly. I can always unarchive the cache for you if needed.

Sincerely,

Chuck Walla

Geocache Description:

This should be an EZ find for travelers on Highway 65. Just turn east at N35 deg 18.582' x W092 deg 24.230 and follow the road.

This cache was placed here to attract everyone to the waters that inspired the book Cadron Creek by photojournalist Lil Junas in 1979. Her book is still on sale at nearby Woolly Hollow State Park and available at many places online.

This landing, along with another one 11 miles downstream on Highway 285, was developed by the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission.

Cadron Creek has many enjoyable miles of water for the novice and intermediate paddler. As Cadron Creeks drains the Ozark plateau, cuts through Batesville Mountain and winds its way down to the Arkansas river the character of the river is constantly changing. From easy ripples and long pools to roaring cascades of high standing waves--whatever sort of adventure you choose Cadron Creek can deliver.

Cadron Creek is considered an intermediate run with Class I-II+ whitewater that will keep you on your toes at every turn. There are many exciting shoals and willow jungles and blind curves add to the suspense. Cadron Creek is enclosed by dense stands of hardwood forests and towering bluffs. This is very beautiful and remote country and you will encounter only a few signs of civilization.

If you have the time, go to nearby Cadron Creek Outfitters and they'll fix you up with a float trip full of memories.

I have placed the following items in the ammo box: Valentine treat, cross necklace, magnetic clip, bon jour key chain, John Grisham novel, a coozie, and several bag clasps. I've also included a Doc Holiday Travel Bug that left Maryland in 2006 trying to find it's way to Tombstone. Hopefully someone will give him a ride.

Also, be sure to look for other caches in the area.

Good Luck.

CONGRATULATIONS TO B62GTAWK FOR THE FTF!!!!!!!!
