Geocache Description:

A little jaunt along a muddy country lane to commemorate a certain someone's getting stuck there last year (Mongoose39uk on 4 March 2007 to be precise!) Unless there has been an unusally long dry spell prior to your visit, you WILL encounter much MUD and MUCK on this route, which is officially classified as a byway open to all traffic. Don't say I didn't warn you :-)

Wood Road Lane is a handy link between Summerseat and Brandlesholme, and the farmers use it all the time - hence the condition of the lane. If you have a 4x4 you could do this as a drive-by but be prepared to encounter tractors or herds of cows.

In drier spells it's a pleasant stroll or an enjoyable mountain bike route, and the blackberries are great down the lane in September. You could manage an all-terrain type pushchair on it ONLY after a prolonged dry spell.

However, much of the time the lane is a quagmire and the mud is not very clean mud either! So wellies are the order of the day. If you bring a dog with you, it will need a bath when it gets home; probably the kids will too; heck, so will you!

This is just a short two part multi - first you need to locate a micro (film cannister) which contains co-ordinates to the second and final part, the actual cache (small lock'n'lock box containing log book, pencils, sharpener and some swaps).

PLEASE NOTE The final cache hiding place has a big hole (Thanks Lolly! Good thing you pointed that out!) and the cache could drop down it, so please take care when replacing the cache THANKS!!!
