The Land Down Under Multi-Cache

This cache has been archived.

Emmy-n-Sapphie: Since the redirector is one-of-a-kind, it's impossible to replace. So I have to archive this one.

Thanks to those of you who took the time to do our VERY short multi-cache. I know from the logs that most of you really enjoyed the redirector. A BIG thank you to the cachers (at least three of you) who nominated this for best multi-cache last year. We were really happy to know that you appreciated all the effort that went into this cache. I just wish more people would have visited it.

Geocache Description:

A short 2-step multi in the Barton Creek Greenbelt.

The final is located at
N 30 16.4 _ _
W 097 50._ _ _

From the song “Land Down Under” by Men at Work:

Traveling in a fried-out combie
On a hippie trail, head full of zombie
I met a strange lady, she made me nervous
She took me in and gave me breakfast
And she said,

"Do you come from a land down under?
Where women glow and men plunder?
Can't you hear, can't you hear the thunder?
You better run, you better take cover."

The original final got muggled after just a few days, so we have moved it to a much more secure location. The redirector is in the same place it was, but now to get to the final, there is a little more bushwhacking and you will have to climb over a remnant fence. There is a low spot in the fence about 80 ft east of the final cache (marked with a white rock) which even I could climb over with my little legs. Final is an ammo can. Enjoy!

Note: The best trailhead for this cache is off Lost Creek Blvd. at N 30° 16.476 W 097° 50.342. If you don't want to bushwhack through really thick brush to the redirector, leave the trail at N 30° 16.476 W 097° 50.342. You'll still have to bushwhack, but you should be able to pick out a fairly painless path.

If the creek is low, you can also enter the greenbelt by Marika Box (GC14VRA), follow that trail across the creek and it will meet up with the trail to the redirector. But if you are really a masochist, enter from the Hill of Life and get all wet crossing the creek.

Congratulations to Cyberclops on the FTF!

Congratulations to Lignumaqua on the FTF at the new location!
