The Tribble Mill Trek Cache is temporarily "down" due to a wonderful job of vandalism by some weenie or group of weenies who I hope got their jollies by strowing the contents of the cache as well as the container and lid all about the area. We plan to put it back soon, probably in October. Thanks to all the visitors who enjoyed the cache and were actually trained in the use of Tupperware and could restore the cache to it's normal place in good condition.
The terrain is easy but maybe a bit grassy (this should tell you something). This should be an easy find, since the mostly unobstructed sky (this should tell you something, too) should provide high GPS accuracy. My Garmin eMap unit was reading +/- 14 feet when we hid the cache.
This is our first cache, and it is placed within Tribble Mill county park. Due to the fact that we are Star Trek fans, we couldn't resist placing this cache in a park evidently named in honor of the fuzzy Tribble animals from one of the most popular original ST episodes. We did not go to great extremes to make this one difficult, and have noted that it is a good "first timer" cache. The cache is a tupperware-type container which initially contained some ST trading cards, a couple of action figures, a Star Trek episode on VHS, and a collectible cast metal model of the USS Enterprise NCC1701D. There is a logbook.
The cache itself is slightly covered with pinestraw and grass. Please try and cover it back up after you finish your visit. Besides Tribbles, please beware of spiders and anything else crawly (I suppose this is good advice for any cache-hunter). One person apparently got bitten. We apologize, we did not intentionally put anything in the cache to attract critters.
By the way, I really have no idea why they named this park "Tribble Mill". I have yet to see a single Tribble there. Be on the lookout, though.
