Hidden in a nifty little spot, just screaming for a geocache. The cache can be found a short distance off the main Chinqua Penn Trail, accessible during daylight hours. Parking for the trailhead can be found at the following coordinates: 36 22.976 N, 79 42.192 W Continue on the full loop to enjoy a beautiful 1.5 mile hike through the fields and forest of the old Chinqua Penn Plantation. The mansion itself is now privately owned, but open for wine tastings and tours most weekends.
Seventh & Eighth Grade students from New Garden Friends School (Greensboro, NC) visited the Betsy-Jeff Penn 4H Education Center in October of 2007 for the ORIENT Project, a new GPS-based middle school science program. On their third day, these students stashed a cache in a publicly accessible area along Betsy & Jeff's Trail. In the cache they left several stuffed animals with Travel Bugs attached. They have big dreams for these travel bugs, so help 'em out a bit!
Future school group participants in the ORIENT Project will also be visiting this cache, dropping more Travel Bugs into the system. So come back often if you wish.
