Geocache Description:


This cache is located at the Henry Hudson Park, Barent Winne Road Selkirk, NY 12158. Park hours vary by season, please visit the Henry Hudson Park website link for more information.  

The NY Capital Region Geocachers are hosting a Cache In Trash Out (CITO) Event at Henry Hudson Park on Saturday, April 26, 2008! Come join us to clean up a great local park, do some caching, swap travel bugs and meet other area geocachers.

Henry Hudson Park, Barent Winne Road Selkirk, NY 12158
            N 42° 32.708 W 073° 45.590

When: Saturday April 26, 2008 9am – 2pm

About the Park:
This very scenic park is located off Route 144 in Cedar Hill along the banks of the Hudson River. The facilities include a boat launch, picnic area with grills, softball field, playground, volleyball court, horseshoes, gazebo, pavilion and accessible fishing area.

Event will begin at 9am at the pavilion with a sign up sheet for geocachers. Areas will be assigned from there.

Suggested items to bring are:
1. Thick Gloves
2. Boots (depending upon the tide - it could be muddy in places)
3. Water
4. Friends and Family
5. Tick/bug spray
6.Anything you think might be helpful

General Advice:
Don’t work alone and keep a first aid kit handy (one will be kept at the sign-in area).
Always wear gloves or use litter pickers.
Do not lift anything heavy without help – if you’re unsure, don’t try it.
Use the right tool for the job.
If you don’t like the look of it, don’t touch it!

4-20-08 update: 1 week until the event!!

1. 1irishgirl and I have placed multiple caches in and around the park-there are a total of  7 new caches!
    This does not include the new Wherigo at the park and preexisting caches.

2. If you are staying for lunch, we have ordered 2 Six foot subs (a donation bucket will be out to put money towards this)
3. There will also be some bottled water, soda, chips and a dessert.
