Join us from 10 AM until 2 PM as we celebrate the efforts of TLC and the Wake County Parks, Recreation & Open Space folks with an open house at the new Mark's Creek property. The Step Back in Time Tour highlights the distinct rural character of this region through the exploration of four themes: agricultural heritage, historic heritage, natural heritage, and scenic beauty.
Elements of the day’s events include a driving tour; open house visits to historic sites; nature walks; geocaching; and a scavenger hunt and other children’s activities. Click on the user's web page link for the exact schedule of the event.
There will be some temporary event only caches placed in the area to allow you to explore one of the largest undeveloped tracts of land in the Triangle. TLC and its Mark’s Creek Rural Lands Initiative partners—Wake County Parks, Recreation & Open Space and The Trust for Public Land—have conserved 1,000 acres of these fertile piedmont lands since 2005.Come out and visit with your fellow Triangle area geocachers, and help introduce some new cachers to the fun.
