Chloe’s Cache, Frogs and Logs Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

-DeRock-: Greetings,

While Geocaching.com would like to continue to hold the location for you, doing so blocks other cachers from placing caches in the area. We feel that this cache has been disabled for a period of time exceeding what is reasonable for the area, and thus I regretfully must archive it.

If you are able to get out and replace the cache, simply drop me a note and let me know the GC waypoint number of the cache or better yet, the URL of the cache page. I will be more than happy to take a look at it to see if it is still is within the guidelines of the Geocaching.com website for cache placement and posting.

Thank you,

-DeRock-

Geocache Description:

Traditional cache located in the hilly woods of the Sharonville Conservation Area. Some hiking required!

This cache is on public Conservation area land near Hollow Hill Farm (named for Sharron Hollow and Prospect Hill; the hollow hill is where the spirits live, according to Celtic mythology).

Old timers say that the public road to the route to the cache was not maintained by the county during the Depression. Also that there was a still (as in moonshine) close by one of the roads. You may see artifacts of the farms bought up by the DNR…lilacs and day lilies growing in the middle of clearings in the woods. I actually had a horse step in an old well once! Be careful!

Chloe’s Cache, Frogs and Logs, was once one of my favorite horse training spots…hills and thrills. Its now closed to horses and other four legged non-wild animals. The cache is near the Raisin River and you may hear Sandhill cranes call their primeval sounds and the flap of wings like hound’s ears.

The cache is black plastic strongbox that’s a bit smaller than an ammo box stuffed with some toys, including a witch (there is a real Wicca in the neighborhood), a Where’s George dollar, cool trinkets, and some travel bugs. My GPS got poor coverage in this area. Good luck!
