Geocache Description:

This is in the Old White Camp area. Flat ground, could be muddy in winter and very dry in summer.
Cache is a coffee can size.

This is a fun area to walk through and I thought there should be another cache out here.
This is a loop road - the goes by about a dozen old in-ground bunkers. You can't go inside of these but you can check them out. I did take a picture of the inside of one through small hole next the ground,I will add the picture here.
The cache is the size of a large peanut butter jar, with log sheet and some trade items. I found a little history of the place:
The Camp White covered a large area, you can see big bunkers in the fields of Sam's Valley area, all shot up from the training days. Camp was only operated from 1942 to 1946.

Five firms combined forces and submitted the low bid of $27,500,000. This group was known as CMC and at least three of the firms had worked together on other camps.
Work proceeded around the clock under huge lights. Traffic on Crater Laky Highway was so heavy it was made one way coming out from Medford with Table Rock Road going the other direction. More than 10,000 workers were involved. Many workers lived in tent cities. Despite the speed, the camp was well built.
On September 15, 1942, the camp was officially dedicated as “Camp George A. White” after the adjutant general of the Oregon National Guard, who had recently died. The camp involved 77 square miles and trained 40,000 troops at a time. It was the second largest city in the state.
