Park at N34 degrees 45.837 and W092 degrees 29.675, please watch for cars as you cross the street to the logging road.
You may need a pair of rubber boots if you stay on the logging road, however there are places to cross the small creek where boots aren't necessary.
You are looking for a small camoed ammo box filled with trinkets. The reason I brought you here is twofold:
1) This is a place where the Winona Pipeline comes through heading to Little Rock's Ozark Point Water Treatment Plant. It originates at Lake Winona, a 1.9 sq. mile scenic reservoir, about 21 to 22 miles away from this point. Lake Winona was built in 1936 as the primary source of raw water for the then Little Rock Water Works. The first water flowed through these pipes on April 17, 1938. The pipeline is a 39" diameter gravity flow concrete pipe that still today provides 35% of Central Arkansas Water's daily requirements. In other words - NO PUMPS or Electricity. If you go out west towards Paron on Kanis Road - every once in a while you'll see concrete pillars - these are the air vents for the pipeline.
2) Where you find this cache is on the old roadbed of a shortline railroad track (running east to west) that existed from the late 1800's through the early 1920's. Along it's route going out into northern Saline County were many logging camps. This railroad and logging camps supplied a majority of the timber that built Little Rock, Arkansas.
Just wanted to throw some history your way!
Enjoy the cache!
Congratulations to berryold on the First-To-Find!!!!
