Geocache Description:

This cache is similar to the recently created DeLorme caches, except this one is based on the Thomas Bros. Map (or Thomas Guide) of Snohomish County. There are 55 maps on the 2008 Thomas Guide, two of which have no caches allowed so you will need to find 53 caches before finding the final for this one.

THE COORDINATES AT THE TOP OF THIS PAGE ARE NOT THE LOCATION FOR THIS CACHE - DO NOT GO THERE!

To complete this cache you must find a cache on each NUMBERED page in the Snohomish County County Thomas Guide.

The 2008 Version of the Thomas Guide is the one I am basing this challenge on.

Your find must be dated after January 1, 2008.

If you wish to participate in the challenge please do the following:

  1. Create a bookmark list called "Your Name - SNOCO Thomas Guide Challenge"
  2. Make the bookmark list public, place this this cache on it so that it shows up in the Book Marks lists shown on this cache page.
  3. As you complete each page, place ONE cache you are claiming for that page on your book mark list. Put the page number before the Cache Name on the bookmark list so that the Bookmark list becomes sorted by the Map Number

If you are not a premium member, and therefore cannot make bookmark lists I can work with you for alternate means of verification.

Rules:

  1. All caches to be claimed must be found after 1/1/2008. If you have found ALL caches within a map page, contact me. In this case I may have to make an exception or provide an alternate.
  2. No Virtuals or Events. All other cache types are ok as long as the cache has a container to find, and a log book to sign. The coordinates listed at the top of the cache page will be the coordinates used to determine which map page the cache is located in.
  3. Once you have found a cache in all map pages, you are free to find and log the final. However any found logs made on the final will be verified, and I will delete any logs where the finder has not fairly completed the challenge.
  4. All finds must be located in Snohomish County (Some pages overlap into King, Skagit, and Island Counties)
  5. Maps 355 and 375 are located entirely within the Tulalip Indian Reservation or Hat Island where no caches are allowed. You do not need to find a cache on these two map pages.
  6. The individual maps are actually broken down into two pages within the Thomas Guide, a left page and a right page. With there being a slight skew in the latitude and longitude in the guide, the coordinates used to verify that a cache is in a particular map, will be the ones used in the guide, on whichever page (left or right) that the cache coordinates says that the cache is on.

At the time I placed this cache there is one page that does not have an active cache on it. I had thought about leaving that page off the challenge, but have decided to leave it on unless someone can show me that there is no legal place within that page to place a cache.
