Auf dem harten Fels !
Heute haben wir unseren 1. Cache gelegt. In einer wunderschönen Gegend am Hartenfels:
Der Hartenfels ist der Hausberg von Neukirchen bei Sulzbach Rosenberg. Mit seinen 531 m Höhe ist er geologisch und historisch sehr interessant. Der Höhenzug läuft von Norden nach Süden und bildet am Ende ein riesiges Felsenriff. In ihm sind 7 Höhlen zu finden, das Windloch, das Franzosenloch, die Frauenfelshöhle, die Bettelküche und die Hirtenweberhöhle. Früher stand hier oben eine mittelalterliche Burg, die aus einer Wehranlage mit Vorburg und Hauptburg bestand. Dies ist deutlich zu erkennen. Auch 2 Wälle mit Halsgraben sind zu sehen. Sie schützten die Burg gegen Angriffe über die Hochfläche. Sie entstand etwa zu Beginn des 13. Jahrhunderts. In einer Urkunde von 1268 wird von einem Heinrich von Hertenfels berichtet der in der Kirche von Eschenbach im Hirschbachtal begraben liegt.
Es ist eine sehr romantische Gegend, die zu weiteren Ausflügen einlädt. Der Felsen wird öfters von Bergsteigern zu Übungszwecken verwendet. Die Aussicht von ganz oben ist traumhaft – allein schon ein Grund zum Geocaching hierher zu kommen.

Es handelt sich um abschüssiges mit Laub bedecktes Gelände. Also bitte aufpassen!
Wir hoffen die Koordinaten sind einigermaßen ok.
Die Koordinaten wurden mit einem Pocket PC und der CF Karte Holux 721 ermittelt.

At the hard rock!
Today we have our 1. Cache put. In a beautiful area at the hard rock:
The hard rock is the house mountain of new churches with Sulzbach rose mountain. With its 531 m height it is geological and historically very interesting. The hoehenzug runs from the north to the south and forms at the end an enormous rock reef. In it 7 caves are to be found, the Windloch, the Franzosenhöhle, the Frauenfelshöhle, the Bettelküche and the Hirtenweberhöhle. In former times stood here above a medieval castle, which consisted of a weir system with fore-castle and main castle. This is to be recognized clearly. Also 2 barriers with neck ditch are to be seen. They protected the castle from attacks over the high surface. It originated in for instance at the beginning 13. Century. In a document of 1268 of a Heinrich of Hertenfels reports in the church by ash brook in the deer brook valley buried lies. It is a very romantic area, which in-loads to further trips. The rock is used repeatedly from mountain climbers to purposes of practice. The prospect from completely above is fantastic - alone a reason to the Geocaching to come here.

The coordinates were determined with a pocket PC and the CF map Holux 721.
