Geocache Description:

Somerset is the land of dragons. We even have one as our crest (no, it’s not a wyvern it’s a dragon!) This is the fifth in a series of caches celebrating some of the famous (and not so famous) dragons of Somerset. The caches will be opened over the next few weeks. Don’t forget to record the clue in the front of the logbook, which will help you find the final bonus cache.

In Putsham’s Hill above the village of Kilve lived a dragon called Blue Ben. He was a rarity among British dragons as he was Blue and he died an accidental death. Legend has it that Blue Ben used to pull the Devil’s chariot down into Hell; one day he got too hot and needed to cool himself in the sea off Kilve. Blue Ben got stuck in the mud and drowned when the tide came in.

Blue Ben’s cache is left on the hill. Parking is available for a couple of cars a few metres north of where the footpath to the woods meets the road.
The cache is located alongside the footpath about 30 meters into the wood. You may have to negotiate some muddy paths and brambles.

Please respect the dragon - cache in only shiny and metallic objects. Cache in any plastic tat and feel the dragon’s wrath.
To avoid being muggled; please cover again well.
