A short hike on the Crooked River National Grasslands at an elevation of 3187'. Easy hike except for the short descent into the small canyon(only reason I made it a 2.5).
Are you ready to see some magnificent Ponderosa pines in a forest of sage and juniper, then this is the cache you've been waiting for. Find McMeen Spring and the cache is only 50' away, but watch out for that coil it still has some sharp barbs. Best and closest entrance to the small canyon is at N 44 30.113 W 121 00.844. Looks like a great place to find snakes in another couple of months, but just make lots of noise and keep your eyes peeled. The pipe coming from the spring was barely running, so don't depend on spring water in the summer months, bring some with you. Left a Red Jeep TB and nice coin for the first finder. The cache is a small plastic container wrapped in camo tape. Have fun and enjoy the oasis.
