The name of this cache comes from the fact that it is not hidden at an obvious landmark along the Appalachian Trail. Its best geographical description is that it is around ¾ of a mile south of where the road from the Montello Fish Hatchery joins the AT. On a topo map, it would be on the west slope of Porter’s Ridge. Check the clue if you have problems locating the cache (the coords were a little hard to pin down on that slope).
While in the area, be sure to find the Spy Rock geocache which is about ½ mile north of the junction of the gravel road and the AT.
To get near the area, take Hwy 56 either from the Blue Ridge Parkway or from Highway 151 in the valley. The Montebello Fish Hatchery entrance is just below the junction of 56 and the BRP. Coords for the parking area are 37 50.511 079 07.871. Follow the gravel road for about a mile until you reach the junction of the AT and then turn right onto the trail.
