Geocache Description:

This place, lying at the base of the mountain Gebel Fuga, roughly 70 km eastward from the coastal town of Abu Zenima.

The name Forest of Pillars comes from the tubular columns of black lava that are driven up like many stalagmites from the surrounding rock, made up from reddish-yellow sandstones. This place is one of the most intriguing geological oddities in the Sinai.

If you want to visit this place, guide (Mr. Rabia – 002 0105312380, www.1worldtours.com) and 4x4 are more than necessary.

The cache:
Is placed near this place (20m) at the side of the rock above (15m) the Forest of Pillars.
It is a round metal box, originally from cookies.
