Geocache Description:

A lock-n-lock container hidden near the start of the trail. This should be your first cache of the series following the winding trail in a southerly direction. South, in general. :-)

I forgot something important when placing this cache series - the front tire to my bike. D'oh! I had planned on riding all 8 miles and placing mostly ammo cans but without that vital piece of bike equipment I ended up hiking 3+ miles and only placing two ammo cans. The best laid plans...

Oak Cliff Nature Preserve consists of 120 acres with nearly 8 miles of hiking and biking trails. The trails opened in March 2007 and will be expanded over time. The trail system is maintained by the Dallas Off-Road Bike Association (DORBA) and is open to both hiking and biking.
Please observe the following Trail Rules:
  • Do not ride muddy trails! Check trail conditions at dorba.org.
  • Enter at the trailhead and stay on marked trails.
  • Hikers must yield to bikes (step off the trail).
  • When biking do not ride off trail or cut across loops.
  • Bikers must wear safety helmets.
  • Park your bike off the trail when hunting for a geocache - do not block the trail.
  • Hide your valuables and lock your vehicle.
  • Bring plenty of water and hyrdrate often. There is no water available at the park.
