This hike is approximately 3/4 mile from the trailhead to the
cache. It has some spectacular views of the gorge from a place that
not a lot of people venture. Most often people see the cliffs this
cache is on top of from the Oregon side only.
Please be very careful of you take small kids or dogs. The trail
wanders along the top edge of the cliffs of Cape Horn and it is a
LONG way down. The cache itself is located at a place that I think
affords an epic view both up and down the river. It is a place that
those with a fear of heights might be leary of and requires sure
footed folks. The ground is a bit uneven at the final location so
please be very careful. Also please be sure to cover the ammo can
again as naturally as you can so it is not found by others that may
venture out here.
