Geocache Description:

Welcome to Lake Cumberland/Dale Hollow's 3rd Annual Geocache Weekend. If you love geocaching this is the event for you! This is going to be one of our best geocaching events thus far. There will be caches designed to inspire the beginning cacher, as well as challenging even the savvy veteran cacher.

The geocache weekend will begin on Friday April 18th and continue through the Sunday the 20th.We will kick off the weekend on Friday evening at Lake Cumberland State Resort Park with registration beginning at approximately 4:00 p.m. through 8:00 p.m. CST. We will be having a brief overview of the weekend to get everyone acquainted with event rules and procedures while caching. Caching will commence promptly at 8:00 a.m. CST on Saturday morning at Lake Cumberland S.R.P. We will meet briefly to disseminate coordinates and your cache packet. If you have a more recent Garmin GPS you might be able to download coordinates. There are already approximately 50+ caches placed at Lake Cumberland, including five new FTF permanent caches along with the 4 existing permanent caches already located on the park. We will wrap up the weekend caching at Dale Hollow Park on Sunday. We will meet at Dale Hollow at 8:00 a.m. CST on Sunday morning.

The registration fee for the weekend is $20.00 per couple ( any 2 people) and $10.00 per individual. We will be giving away door prizes, and cache prizes. The fee also entitles you to a spanking new geocache tee shirt while they last! Pre-registration is not required, but would be greatly appreciated. Terrain levels are in an average range but the fact that many will be on park trails is why the difficulty level is 3 stars. Caches are placed close to trails which make them easily accessible. Caution should be exercised when walking on any trail.

Free wifi is available at ALL Kentucky State resort parks - so bring your laptop and your GPS.
