Summer Hill Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

John Wasser: From recent reports, the air-tight cover of the cache is was taken or destroyed. I think I have a new container I can use to replace it. I'm guessing I can un-archive the cache when it it ready for more finders.

Geocache Description:

Near the top of Summer Hill in Maynard, MA.

Trail heads are on Summer Hill Road (opposite #74) and Summer Street (just east of Patti Lane).

If you want a nice walk through the woods, start at the Summer Hill Road trail head. Parking on the side of the street is possible but tight. The trail starts out marked with pink ribbons but soon changes to yellow blazes. Follow the trail all the way to its end at the water tower access road.

For a much steeper climb you can turn right onto the white-blazed trail a few hundred feet from the trail head. It will get you to the top faster. It meets the yellow-blazed trail again at the access road and continues down the other side of the hill to the Summer Street trail head.

Signs at the trail heads specify: No motorized vehicles. No unleashed dogs. No fires or camping.
