Geocache Description:

Just admit you have a problem and block this one off your list. It's not worth your time or energy to find.

There is only a few slips of paper in the small, brown, cylindrical cache that is hidden conspicuously in a rotten tree. The hard part is not the finding, it's the getting to. You could float down the twisty, snaking, Housatonic river in a canoe for about 2.5 miles, pull over into a swamp and try to paddle to it. Or trudge in waist to chest high water and muck for about 500 feet after following the railroad tracks for about 2 miles from New Lenox Road near the Lenox Sportsman's Club. *Update(4/7/08): Rumor has it that a cacher and his dog were almost busted for trespassing on the tracks. So either be stealthy or just take a kayak/canoe.

Either way, it sure is a lot of effort and toil just for another find. If you attempt it, you'll find you agree. Do the right thing and tell your caching buddies not to come out either, it's just too tough for them...

But if you do come out be sure to set for a bit near the massive beaver huts, the biggest you've ever seen! You'll be sure to hear them knawing away and busying themselves in there. The bird life 'round these parts is awesome too! I've heard bird-sound out here the likes I've never heard before. There was one time out here that I saw a Bald Eagle and a few Great Blue Heron on the same visit! If you make it to the cache (which you probably won't, and if you do, you should consider some professional help with your caching problem) be sure to look up the mountain. I've included a picture, but it can't do justice to the scale of the line that runs straight up the hill.

Update: 8-2-10 I think the best place to park the canoe would be 42*22.354, 073*14.588. Its only 327 feet from the cache. Trust me though, it will be a tough 327 feet! From the Decker boat launch and back today it was 5.88 miles. It took me an hour and 50 minutes in a racing canoe.
