Troy's St. Patrick's Day Riot Multi-Cache

This cache has been archived.

fishpalmer: This one has definitely been muggled. I planned to replace it with a new cache nearby, but think I will wait until the construction is done.

Geocache Description:

A two-part multi to celebrate St. Patty's Day.

On St. Patrick's Day in 1827, a riot broke out in downtown Troy. Taking place over the better part of the day, it began at the corner of River and Ferry streets, proceeded up Ferry Street to the corner of Fifth and Ferry, where the jail was then located, and continued south on Fifth.

You can read more about the riot at (visit link)

In commemoration of that fateful day and in acknowledgment of St. Patrick's Day's approach once again, this cache was placed near the area of the riot.

You should be able to find this cache paretty much year round, but it can get a little slippery in the cold weather. Also, I would not recommend hunting this cache at night, particularly in warmer weather.

Please be sure to obey all parking restrictions. There is a public parking lot about a quarter of a mile uphill from the IP. You can easily walk to both parts of the cache from that lot.

The first part is rather on the small side and the final is an ammo can stocked with Irish and St. Patrick's Day themed goodies - please try to continue the theme. Also, for the FTF there is an unactivated 2007 St. Patrick's Day geocoin. Good luck and enjoy.
