Cougar 7: I checked on the cache and found that it had indeed been muggled. Too bad, it was a nice spot. Cougar 7

Cache and dash, unless you want to take pictures
This is a traditional Cache in a small 30 cal ammo can that is some
what camo painted and located along Hwy 41 overlooking Oakhurst CA
It has good parking and easy access from the Coarsegold side
traveling toward Oakhurst. From Oakhurst going up Hwy 41 you have
to cross downhill traffic which can be seasonally very busy and you
may have to drive to the summit and turn around. On placing the
cache it contained three travel bugs, “The prowling Cougar”, “ABQ
TB” (from Albuquerque NM) and “Chinook me all night” (from a
helicopter pilot). It also contained a yellow bumble bee, a small
turtle, a tape recorder on a key ring, an alligator squirt gun that
squeaks when you pull the trigger, a “Matal” pick-up in a box, two
small race cars, a money clip, and a gold colored Pirate coin. It
also has a log , pen and pencil. The view of Mt. Raymond, Fresno
Dome, Big Shuteye, Little Shuteye and Mt Tom can be seen with their
snow caps in the early spring which is a good time to visit
“Yosemite Nat. Park” so have your camera ready. The mountain town
of Oakhurst can be seen down on the valley floor which was formerly
known as “Fresno Flats and has a rich history. It is unknown if
anyone was “hanged” on the present “Hang Tree” as an “old timer”
informed me that the “original Hang Tree” was located where the
present day telephone company now stands. He claimed the present
Hang tree was formerly known as the “Picnic Tree” which also has a
geocache. Happy hunting.
