While tromping through the snow, found a number of routes
through the woods, helping me get from here to there. For some
reason, this area I got to a number of times while bird watching. I
can confirm a piliated woodpecker is still active in the area, as I
had the pleasure of watching him excavate a hole from 20 feet away
for 2-3 minutes before he realized I was in the area.
This cache is located as follows:
- 189 meters from Megan
- 187 meters from Kimmy
- 263 meters from Lisa
- 364 meters from Marjorie
Well, that should be much clearer, with Lisa and Megan now with
the proper settings - thanks cron!
Contents of the cache when hidden:
- softball from Winnipeg Goldeyes
- hand made clay candle holder
- 2008 calender & pen set
- upper Jock River Race fridge Magnet
- 2 mini toy Simba flashlights
- Tim Horton's $2 Gift Certificate
- and a GeoCoin I happened to have with me
And of course, a logbook, pencil, and geocaching manifesto.
This cache is definately easier to find in the winter, with
snowshoes being the optimal mode of transportation. Nordic skis
would also work, though there is a 10m bushwack near the end.
I will be very interested in what the area looks like in the
summer!
Definately winter friendly. Enjoy.
